Ingredients

1 large head of broccoli, cut into florets (or about 4 cups)
1–2 tbsp oil (olive oil, avocado oil, etc.)
Salt and pepper to taste
2–3 tbsp Japanese barbecue sauce (I use Bachan’s)
Optional pantry adds: garlic powder, sesame seeds, red pepper flakes
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Toss the broccoli florets with oil, salt, pepper, and a light sprinkle of garlic powder or red pepper flakes if using.
Spread the broccoli on a baking sheet in a single layer (lined with parchment for easier cleanup).
Roast for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are nicely charred and crispy.
Remove from the oven and immediately toss with the Japanese BBQ sauce so it gets sticky and glossy from the residual heat.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds if you’ve got them. Enjoy!
